During the Covid-19 pandemic

In person sessions

I will be resuming in person sessions indoors in the centre of York from 2 April 2021, following government guidelines to remain Covid secure.  I am happy to discuss any concerns with you.  The office is based on Blake Street in the centre of York and whilst it is on the ground floor, there are 3 steps up into the building.  
 

Online & telephone sessions

Working in these ways can prove equally as effective therapeutically and for many people this form of therapy is preferred for many reasons.  I would like to offer a 30 minute free telephone call to discuss how this can work for you.  

Outdoor walking therapy sessions

In light of the Covid pandemic, this outdoor therapy session may provide additional peace of mind, as it allows us to connect in a socially distanced way in the fresh air.  There is also a lot of evidence, from Mind and the NHS to show that walking in nature can significantly reduce anxiety, stress and depression and improve our general wellbeing and self-esteem.  The movement of walking can also have a meditative effect, as well as helping us to process our emotions.  Aside from Covid, many clients are more comfortable with discussing their difficulties and feelings when walking alongside one another, rather than face to face in the physical constraints of a room or online.  The pace of the walk can be set by you, there's no need to be super fit and there is the opportunity to find a quiet spot to sit outside also.  Please contact me if you would like to learn more about this way of working and if it could work for you. 

How many sessions will I need?

This can vary from person to person.  Some clients may just need a few sessions, others may benefit from longer term work.  We can discuss this at the start and regularly review this together. 

Sessions are usually held weekly as this is usually of most benefit to clients, and the frequency can be reduced as things improve for you. 

£50 – day-time sessions 8am-5pm – 50 minutes

£55 – evening sessions after 5pm – 50 minutes 

This will need to be paid at least 24 hours in advance by BACS.  

I also have some places for clients who need reduced fees, so please do let me know if you wish to be added to my waiting list.
